How to make caramel – At Homemade caramel
3/4 cup granulated sugar (you can also use white sugar)
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional)
- 1½ tablespoons unsalted butter
Step 1 : Tan a pot pan that you will comfortable to cook the caramel .
Step 2 : Keep the pot pan on low heat and mix the sugar and water in that and mix it properly.
Step 3 : Wait for some time after that see the sugar are converted with water because the sugar Be sure there are no dry spots.
Step 4 : Only use granulated sugar. Brown sugar and powdered sugars contain too many impurities and will not caramelize. Raw sugar is not recommended.
Step 5 : Heat the sugar and water for sometime on medium heat until the sugar is dissolve in water properly.
Step 5 :To prohibit you can keep the pot covered until the sugar is completely melted. Any sugar crystals hanging on to the sides of the pot will be forced to the bottom by the condensation created.
Step 6 : Brown sugar see the brown sugar as it is dark if it is dark then immediately remove it from heat when it is gently foaming and smoking, immediately remove it from the heat
Step 7 : If you want to add some dry fruits then you can add some dry fruits in that .
