France the World Champions!
In an epic encounter between Croatia and France, it were the Frenchmen who emerged victorious to claim the bragging rights in the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia. After a hard fought battle of 90 minutes between the two countries the final result was 4-2 France beating Croatia. The French claimed their second FIFA World Cup after a 20 year long wait.

FIFA World Cup is considered as the biggest sporting event in the world. It not only claims to showcase footballing superiority but also the influences world Politics. This edition of FIFA World Cup 2018 saw a very surprising entrant to the Finals, Croatia.
The Croatian proved themselves to be the silent giant killers who defied all the odds to reach the finals and also win everyone’s hearts. With just a mere population of 4.2 million the Croatians had the best world cup since 98 as previously they had managed only to reach a semi-final.
With their star man Luka Modric propelling them to a final and hopes of landing the penultimate Goal they just fell short losing to France 4-2 in a hard fought encounter.

Story of 90 Minutes:-
The first goal came for France by the head of Mario Mandzukic put it back in his own net from a set piece in the 18th minute. soon Croatia was level up by the antics of Ivan Perisic netting it in style but he soon gave away his effort by offering a penalty to the opposition in the 38th minute which was buried in by Antonie Griezmann who rarely misses any. Though the French were sluggish and sloppy in the field for the first 45 minutes they were leading at the end of the first half.
The story of second half was very contrasting to the first half, as if the roles were swapped where the Croatian defenders were caught sleeping by the likes of Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe both scoring scorchers from outside the box in the 59th and 65th minute respectively. Soon the hopes of Croatia were awakened by a silly mistake by the french captain and goal keeper which gave them their 2nd goal.
But the French defense had already outclassed the Croatian dreams of maiden FIFA World Cup Victory. But it was jubilant scenes For the France National Football team as they clinched their second FIFA World Cup after a long wait of 20 years.
An Ecstatic French President at FIFA World Cup
The world Leader were present at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow to witness this epic battle. Along with the Prez of France Mr. Emmanuel Macron, the Croatian prez Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, and President of host Nation Mr. Vladimir Putin was also in attendance as the world cup was lifted by France.
