A Day with a Neurologist

I spend a lot of my day telling other people about what to do and what not. A number of my patients ask me when I follow my own advice; As a Neurologist, I feel that’s a fair question and I answer them politely; I really do practice what I preach!

I’ve got a family and a busy clinic so that I fully realize that time is restricted and our lives could escape control. That is why I prefer to believe that every day brings fresh opportunities to keep health and sanity. Here’s what I do to Keep mine:

  1. Nourish myself with juices.

I begin the day with my easy, yet strong, recipe. I toss a complete cucumber, a half of a beet, a lemon, turmeric root, ginger root, and an apple or a pear into my juicer. Dropperful of ashwagandha and astragalus with some powerful adaptogens make it more refreshing to wake my cells up.

  1. Follow a healthy diet.

Foods in the ground provide all of the vitamins, micronutrients, and macronutrients that my body requires. I spend some time at the kitchen, enjoy becoming creative with snacks that can help to maintain my built.

  1. Prefer fresh food over processed.

Instead of relying on packed and processed ones i prefer fresh food. Yes, actually there is a big reason behind, top most is the high content of preservatives that result in body inflammation with slow kill of body immunity so going with fresh ones is a more beneficial way.

  1. Running keeps my adrenaline high.

Running challenges my muscles and my heart while at the same time clearing my mind. It enables my isolation from the process events of personal and professional life.

  1. Doing hot yoga rejuvenates my mind.

Hot yoga lubricates the joints & keeps my muscles elastic to minimize the risk of harm. Additionally, it gives me a space to get in touch with my own body and admit its limits, while observing its awesome abilities, I do it twice per week.

  1. I find quiet time every evening.

Even though I work late and have a robust family time, I find at least half an hour at the night time, usually before bed, to be still and breathe deep. It’s usually during this period I respect the obstacles I have faced before.

  1. I maintain regular bedtimes.

My mind and my body thrive on regular. I’m sure to be in bed at about precisely the exact same hour and wake about at the exact same hour every morning. Yes, actually a good habit of mine it is,other than the weekends!

  1. I convey myself.

I tell my wife and my daughter that I adore them – because I really do and also it makes me happy to state it out loud.

  1. I listen to my own body.

Some days I have a lot to give, and some days not too much. I have discovered to be OK with this and it’s instructed me to give my all since you never know what tomorrow could bring.

  1. I devote to others.

I confront my challenges by giving myself to other people in need. We’re neighbors, and the further we can offer to people who cross our paths, the more power we use to cure our bodies and our mind. You do not have to be a physician to do so; anybody can be there for others. Studies demonstrate the prosocial behavior really enhances your health by protecting you from the damaging effects of anxiety.

Some days are a struggle but I attempt to focus on that which makes me feel healthy, lively, and motivated. There’s a lot to achieve in this Life and it’s a lot easier to do so once you feel great about your body, thoughts, and soul.
